Dear Ollie Road Race Participants & Supporters,
We are pleased to announce that registration for the 70th running of the Ollie Road Race has begun.
While we are excited about the 2010 race, we have some sad news about the future of the Ollie Road Race. The 70th running of the race will be the last time it is run, as it is presently constituted. We have decided to take the race back to its roots in the neighborhood beginning in 2011. The race as it has been organized in the last seven years, while wonderful, is a very expensive event both in manpower and dollars.
The South Boston Neighborhood House has simply not been able to raise the additional funds needed over the generous support of John Hancock to justify the money spent and make a profit for the organization. The SBNH staff and Board of Directors will forever be indebted to John Hancock and our other sponsors and runners for the support we received over the years for the Ollie Road Race.
With that said we truly hope you will join us and celebrate a Boston tradition one more time! Bring your friends and family. Help the
Ollie Road Race end its 70-year run with a bang. We are working on a very special course and we’d love to have record numbers for the final running of the Ollie Road Race.
Registration links are available along with detailed information regarding parking, sponsorships, race course, etc.
