As we enter our 69th year, we are once again very proud to be selected as the USATF-New England 5 Mile Championship. Last year over 1200 runners of varying skill levels helped to make the 2009 Ollie Road Race a success.
Runners and walkers of all abilities are welcome at the
Ollie Road Race. While we host the USATF-NE 5 Mile Championship
you do not need to be a member of USATF-NE to enjoy our
race. Help us make the 2009 Ollie Road Race our most successful
race ever!
Our youth races and carnival promise to be fun for the entire family. Please join us for a South Boston tradition for 69 years.
This year’s race will take place the second weekend in September.
5 Mile Run/2 Mile Walk: Saturday, September 12, 10am
Bank of America Pavilion, 290 Northern Ave., Boston, MA 02210
Youth Races and Block Party: Sunday, September 13, 9am
South Boston Neighborhood House, 136 H St., South Boston, MA 02127
As many of you know, the Ollie Road Race is a critical fundraiser for the South Boston Neighborhood House. Since 1901, the South Boston Neighborhood House has been helping individuals and families become self-sufficient and prosper in society. In these challenging economic times, your support is needed more than ever and will ensure that the Neighborhood House can continue these efforts. Once again, we are CHALLENGING our runners/walkers to raise funds for this worthy cause.
In the past, we’ve had as many as 1700 runners. In order for the South Boston Neighborhood house to continue to operate future races we will need the broad based fundraising support of our participants. An increased focus on fundraising is critical to the long term sustainability of the Ollie Road Race. Last year, 15 runners/walkers participated in the “Run for the Ollie” challenge and raised $5437.25, imagine what 100 of you could do. Or 1000? If 200 runners each raise $100 (do you have 10 friends that would each support your run with $10?), you could raise $20,000 for the South Boston Neighborhood House! It’s that simple.
Raise $$$ + Run & Enjoy Race = Real Results.
